{"id":1289,"date":"2025-05-12T17:21:17","date_gmt":"2025-05-12T17:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africanewsradio.com\/?p=1289"},"modified":"2025-05-12T17:22:21","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T17:22:21","slug":"minority-demands-suspension-of-sammy-gyamfi-over-viral-dollar-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africanewsradio.com\/index.php\/minority-demands-suspension-of-sammy-gyamfi-over-viral-dollar-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Minority Demands Suspension of Sammy Gyamfi Over Viral Dollar Video"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Minority in Ghana\u2019s Parliament is calling for the immediate suspension of Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the newly established Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD), following the circulation of a viral video that shows him allegedly handing out dollar notes to popular evangelist and former fetish priestess, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a press conference held in Parliament on Monday, May 12, 2025, the Member of Parliament for Walewale, Dr. Tia Abdul Kabiru Mahama, described the act as \u201cgross indiscretion,\u201d adding that it reflects a worrying trend of \u201cabuse, impunity, and moral decay\u201d under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis display of financial recklessness is not only a betrayal of public trust but a slap in the face of millions of Ghanaians currently grappling with the devastating effects of the Cedi, inflation, and the unbearable cost of living,\u201d Dr. Mahama stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minority contends that Mr. Gyamfi, who also serves as the National Communications Director of the NDC, has violated provisions of the Currency Act of Ghana, which prohibits the circulation of foreign currency in place of the Ghana Cedi.
