Accra, Ghana – The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has officially announced August 15, 2025, as the date for its much-anticipated National Executive Elections. The decision was reached unanimously at the Association’s Executive Committee 2nd Quarter meeting held recently.
In a bid to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, the National Executive Committee has constituted a three-member Electoral Committee made up of seasoned professionals from the media fraternity. The committee members are:
- Lawyer Ken Agyei Kuranchie – Daily Searchlight newspaper – Election Administrator
- Desmond Darko – The Catalyst newspaper – Deputy Election Administrator
- Nimatu Yakubu Atuoyese – NewsDeskgh.com – Secretary
The PRINPAG Secretariat has pledged its full administrative support to the Electoral Committee as it prepares to oversee the entire electoral process.
According to the Association, the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the committee include:
- Opening and managing nominations
- Conducting thorough vetting of candidates
- Organizing candidate debates (where necessary)
- Supervising the voting process
- Declaring results
- Executing any other responsibilities necessary to ensure a smooth, credible election
PRINPAG expressed its confidence in the Electoral Committee’s capacity to deliver a transparent and credible process that reflects the Association’s values of democracy, professionalism, and integrity.
The elections will usher in a new leadership team to steer the affairs of the Association for a three-year term.
PRINPAG has called on all eligible members to fully participate in the electoral process and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in all its governance structures.
