Believers’ Worship Centre as known in the past exist as the final manifestation of Gods’ establishment of his works through his servant Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah. It started as a missionary work at Kwara State, Llorin after he had the call of God on the Sobi Mt at Kwara State, Llorin, Nigeria in 1988.
In the same year he established the Group of Believers Ministry in Nigeria and later moved to Benin (Dahomey) in 1995. He returned to Ghana in 1997 and continued with “The Group of Believers Prayer Camp” which was inaugurated at Asiakwa, his hometown in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Again he moved his mission to Cape Coast but left in 1999 to Côte d’Ivoire.
In Côte d’Ivoire he had a prophecy that the country would be plunged into political turmoil from December 1999. While waiting for God’s direction, the voice reiterated that there would not be peace in Côte d’Ivoire for 15 years starting from 2000. So in 2002, he returned to Ghana and settled at Obuasi in Ashanti Region where he established the Adom Prayer and Healing Camp till 2008 when he received God’s direction to move to the “Promise Land” Kumasi.
In early January, 2025, hundreds of traders were displaced following a devastating fire that engulfed Kantamanto Market in Accra’s Central Business District, reducing nearly the whole market to ashes.
The blaze, which erupted the night of 2rd January has left widespread destruction, with traders scrambling to salvage their goods as the flames rapidly spread. The fire, which caused extensive damage, left many traders counting their losses, as goods worth thousands of cedis were destroyed, dealing a heavy blow to those who depended on the market for their survival. For many, the disaster meant starting life all over again, relying on personal savings, loans or external support to rebuild their businesses.
Few weeks ago, President John Dramani Mahama, through the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, recently donated GH¢1m to the Kantamanso traders, while the former Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also donated GH¢200,000 and 250 packets of roofing sheets towards the reconstruction of the market.
Similarly, Absa Bank donated GH¢150,000; GCB Bank offered a GH¢3m loan package for the fire victims, in addition to some insurance packages to secure their businesses.
